Liveblogging the Election
I have the AEC Virtual Tally Room on the laptop, and Sky News's coverage on TV.
Lynton Crosby on Sky is making it really freaking obvious that a rort on the postal votes, or at least a shitfight with lawyers, will be on in Bennelong if McKew comes in with anything less than a really obvious victory. (OMGTHATWOULDBETOTESAWESOME)
Speaking of Bennelong, the swings to Maxine McKew are looking absolutelt awesome. Holy shit. Apparently in one of the biggest Liberal-leaning booths in Bennelong, Howard's been beat ON PRIMARY VOTES.
The Bob Hawke snark earlier in the evening was hilarious, and John Hewson is sticking the knife in wonderfully.
Unsurprisingly, Linday's swinging Labor, after the ridiculous shenanigans there. Incidentally, if people haven't been paying attention there, the husband of the retiring Liberal member and a couple of other Liberal party members were caught letterbox dropping in the electroate with flyers from a fake Islamic organisation praising the Labor Party for supporting Muslims and supporting the freeing of the Bali Bombers. Grubby, dirty shits.
Apparently Catherine Overington (of The Australian) punched the Labor candidate for Malcom Turbull's electorate today. I have no idea what's going on there, but have a news story.
Nothing from Queensland yet, but it's looking like an all-ALP ACT, which makes me happy.
