AHAHAHAHA. The Chaser Boys are hilarious, as usual.

Eeee Maxine McKew is in Sky. She is so awesome. She's clever and hasn't called it yet, but has made the point that her campaign has proved something really important in terms of Bennelong never being taken for granted again. Seriously. There aren't enough words for how awesome this woman is. Oh, so much loff.

And because Maxine McKew took up all the awesome for the next hour and a half, they crossed over to Malcolm Turnbull.

Garrett has retained his seat, and I remain hopeful for rocking out Midnight Oil style in Parliament.

AEC's being the most conservative in their numbers, calling 71 seats for the ALP, ABC and Sky are calling 80+ at this stage.

Still no sign of Howard; he's still hiding out at Kirribilli House. Rudd's pretty much said he won't be appearing or speaking until Howard's had a chance to concedespeak.

And just because it needs to be said again, Maxine McKew is made of awesome. And Brendan Nelson really needs to STFU.

I laughed when in the ABC coverage Kerry Obrien said about bennelong "It's obvious there's been a big swing to the ABC .. uh, I mean Labour party".

Watching the coverage, it was so obvious that he and the other ABC people were so stoked as the news came in, especially any news about bennelong.

I loved it when he took a dig at Channel 7, stating that "some networks" didn't have any faith in their ability to retain viewers with serious analysis, and instead resorted to "clown tricks".

The only more awesome thing would be if he then stood up, pointed at the camera and shouted "That's right, Seven, you're fucking clown shoes!"

The people i was partying with were guessing when john howard was going to concede. I suggested that he wouldn't have to - peter costello would start speaking to the press, front dripping with fresh blood, stating "there has been a change of leadership, and as the new opposition leader .. ". Wouldv'e been awesome. Malcolm Turnbull wouldv'e been standing off to one side, hands hidden behind his back.

I assume you've heard by now that Costello doesn't want a bar of Opp leadership, or deputy for that matter?

At the same time Downer's assuring everyone on Insiders that Costello will be leader, and claiming he's known all year they were gone.

Costello steps back from leadership or deputy leadership.

Tunbull's put his hand up, and Nelson's considering, thus far.
