News
So, after deciding not to do Honours because I didn't really feel comfortable for various reasons, I've just finished my application for the Master of Arts (Professional and Applied Ethics) at ANU. I spoke to the Course Convenor yesterday who said that despite the website saying that I need Hons or a Grad Dip to qualify for entry, I should be fine to get in, given my undergraduate major and the fact that I can argue a case relating work to the degree. Given she's the one who decides who gets into the program, I'm feeling vaguely confident. Now I just have to hope that same argument works as far as the company is concerned and I manage to convince them to sponsor my study, otherwise budgets will be tight for a while.

Still - hi academy, I'm back. It's actually quite exciting, and I really like the sound of the program. I'll be going in part time, which is about four years, coursework, plus a sub-thesis. The conversation I had with the Convenor yesterday was pretty cool, actually, in terms of tying work-stuff into my studies and intersections between bioethics/public health/business ethics that work stuff kinda bleeds around.

In other news, I'll be in Brisbane from this time next week, until about the 6th of January. If you want to catch up, let me know. Don't wait for me to call you, because it's highly likely I don't have your number. Also, what are Brisbane people doing for NYE?

There's the party at [info]redxian's place. Most likely a few guys playing Guitar Hero, really. Of course, aside from myself and Oz, I have no idea who is actually going.

I have decided (just now!) that New Years will be at House of Squid this year. Let me check with Liz on that, but we do damn good parties. (Well ... we do parties where there's good food and where everyone's too drunk to complain.)

heya matey

unfortunately tna has decided to have a 5 week break in their ppv schedule (wtf mate???), so the next one wont be till january 6th, so we wont be watching it till a week after that.

which is a pity because the recent tna ppvs have been really solid. the main event of the last one was supposed to be kevin nash, scott hall and samoa joe vs kurt angle, aj styles and tomko, and then scott hall "pulled out" at the last minute, so samoa joe went out just as the match was about to start, and basically slagged off every single one of the aging superstars (ie nash, hall, steiner, even kurt angle) and then got eric young to come out and take halls place. it was awesome, so good to see young get some exposure...

Read up a bit on that... apparently Hall called in at the last minute with "food poisoning". Joe's rant went on 5mins longer than had been planned, and got him a pretty serious repremand.

You watched the following Impact yet? Interesting fall-out in the days that followed.

Also: Armageddon this weekend. Watch next weekend perhaps? Jericho v Orton :D
